OBJECTIVE

Launch a revolutionary computer program, called SignHealth, which helps health professionals communicate with deaf patients on behalf of Sign, a charity to support deaf people with health problems.

SOLUTIONS

Storm implemented a six-month media relations campaign to raise awareness of SignHealth to all relevant audiences:  healthcare professionals and consumers with hearing problems.  Interviews, in-depth articles and news items were generated in all the leading healthcare publications, while the end users were targeted through the national and regional media, with releases tailored to the region and mentioning their local Primary Care Trust.   The campaign also encouraged those with hearing problems to lobby their local PCTs to adopt SignHealth.

RESULTS

The campaign achieved over 6.8 million opportunities to see, with wide spread coverage in the regional print and broadcast media around each PCT, as well as in the key trade titles such as GP- General Practitioner, Nursing Times, Capital Doctor, Independent Nurse.  It delivered a 3.8 times return on investment, and importantly generated a number of calls from the public to PCTs demanding that SignHealth was installed at their local GP surgery.
